Good Morning from Baytown

(author warning: kelvin)

Today is Sunday, January 24, 2010.

I wonder if that will be a significant date in our lives. It certainly may be.

We have been blanketed by your love the past few days (actually, 2 years) just as sea fog covers the bay. The text messages have rolled in like a bull tide. The hot meals which magically appear on the counter each hour surprise and excite us like a flight of ducks on the horizon. Friends through the door have been more warming than seeing a child catch his first fish. Your prayers have been answered as comfort and strength are doled out to us in adequate portions just as a breeze gently keeps a sailboat moving. Emma continues to walk against the increasingly strong current and exhibits the strength and endurance she always has.

Christy is preparing a very special blog post. I encourage everyone to check back this afternoon.

  3. Continuing to lift you guys up in prayer and asking God to embrace each of you as he always has and always will.

I know you guys from 20+ years ago through Kristi Suggs. I have followed your journey for over a year and have lifted you in prayer daily.

I also have an Emma, so your little girl has a special place in my heart.

Your faith and love for one another and our God continues to amaze me.

  9. Hi Christy and Kelvin, Just wanted you to know that you are in my prayers as you have been but even more so today--I know Emma will soon be running and playing like we all wanted her to so badly here, but she will be enjoying her freedom in a much more beautiful place than here and will be able to see the beauty all around her and be so awed! I know you are surrounded by God's love through your friends and family, and your faith and strength encourage all who know you-my heart is breaking for you, ms. jeanine, pt

  10. We are continuing to pray for you all. We know that Emma's journey here on earth may be ending soon, but her new journey in Heaven will be sooo great. We rejoice in the fact that she will no longer be in pain and will no longer feel the frustration of not being able to do the things she was once able to do. Please remember Psalm 30:5...."weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

Lord, please bless the Dunnam family during this horribly trying time. Let them know that your arms are wrapped tightly around them. Help them understand that You have a much greater plan for this precious little girl. Walk with them every step of this journey. Fill the whole in their hearts with love and help them know that You are there. Please continue to take care of this precious child while she is still here on earth with her family that loves her so much. Your Will be done. Amen.

Take care Dunnam family! We love you and are praying for you and precious little Emma.

  11. May God bring you your strength, your comfort, and your very breath these days. May God hold you together. May He bring his softest and gentlest hands to wrap around Emma in the form of her Mommy and Daddy and so many more who adore her.
I am thankful to God for the love that sweet girl has manifested here and will enjoy this and that side of heaven. Still praying for the miracle of healing-in whichever form God chooses to bring it.

    All our love,

    The Beck Family
