I'm so glad you stopped by. I hope you'll come back often and get to know me a little better. My name is Christy, and I am a forty-something figuring out more about myself every day. I
am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. I love God, I'm crazy about my man, love my family and
friends, and enjoy making my house a home. I also love to sing, cook, eat, and go to
the beach, or the lake, or the river...the water and I go together like peas and carrots. Before children, I taught choir at the
junior high and high school levels. Now I am a stay-at-home mom, home manager,
church-goer, referee of our brood, and director of our non-profit organization.
I love magazines, books, organic produce, and natural foods and products. I
like to grow herbs and look forward to trying my hand at gardening one day
soon. Recycling and composting make me smile. I can waste time like nobody's
business. My love language is quality time, although I appreciate a kind word
like everyone else, and I am not opposed to acts of service either. As I
navigate life without one of my children, I am clinging to the hope that is
only found in Jesus!
This
blog started as a place in which we kept friends and family updated on our Emma’s
health. It became a place where I would find refuge…a place to write about
our life, find other families going through similar situations, get lost in
home décor and food blogs, and find inspiration from all sorts of wonderful
writers.
I'm learning every day that God is good...always...even when circumstances do not work out the way I think they should or want them to. I yearn to know more about Him, and am constantly amazed at what He teaches me. I guess the old adage, "with age comes wisdom" is a bit true. I hope so, anyway.
Grab a cup of coffee, tea, hot cocoa, or whatever suits your fancy, and settle in. Leave a comment or two...I would love to get to know you better too.
