Emma's Hurting

Emma did good for a few days(relatively speaking), but yesterday evening and last night she was in constant pain. There was a particular moan and facial expression that Christy had in the last 2 or 3 contractions during the delivery of all four children. It meant she was at her pain threshold. I recognized the sound and sight with Emma last night. Morphine isn't cutting it.

Please pray for her complete relief of pain.

  6. Am praying. Also, I was trying to recall to Christy a pain reliever I loved for when the regular stuff didn't touch the pain. I looked it up and it's called fentanyl. It's super strong and can be used with strong pain relievers, like morphine, as break-through pain relief. Seriously helps. It doesn't last for very long, but for me it gave me a couple hours of sleep at a time when pain was too strong to rest and too strong for morphine and vicodin. Fentanyl was an intravenous drug for me, but I thought I saw something online that it's available nasally for children. If at some point she needs intravenous pain relievers, the PICC line is a great option for being at home. I am praying for God's healing and pain relief, but I also know how much pain sucks. Drugs were my FRIEND not so long ago and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

  7. I'm so sorry that sweet Emma is in so much pain. I'm praying that God will relieve her and that she will be made whole.

Revelation 21:4 says that God will wipe every tear from Emma's eyes. She will have no more death or mourning or crying or pain, she will be made new.

Isaiah 35:10 tells us that she will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will overtake her, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

    Much love,
    Melissa
