Cora got her very first haircut. She was so excited. I told her a few days ago I made her an appointment. On the way to the hair dresser, we had to run an errand, and Cora fell asleep. Needless to say, she was not nearly as excited about her haircut once we woke her up after we arrived.
Carleigh had an appointment to get her hair trimmed yesterday after school. Cora was wide awake for that one. I had to chase her all over the salon. What a difference an hour makes! Veronica said, "Now, that's the Cora I know!" Carleigh's hair turned out very nice. She said she wants a straight iron. I said maybe for her 10th birthday that is in June. Did you care so much about hair and nails at 9? I don't remember either one being a big deal at that age.
Well, yesterday evening while we were at Target, Carleigh reminded me that she needed a bra. Can you believe I just typed those words?!? She is 9 1/2 years old, for crying out loud! I'm not liking this whole growing up thing...at. all! So, we scooted back to the little girl bra and panty section and picked out her little tank top bra. I didn't make a big deal in the store, but inside I was dying! This is killing me. How did she get to be 9 1/2 so fast? And when in the world did little girls start growing up and maturing so soon? I didn't need any undergarments until I was almost 11! Ugh! I wish I could rewind the clock and enjoy the days when she was little more. I will try to slow down time just a little and enjoy the days to come. There are so many changes to face...I don't think I'm ready.
